Day3: 31 Days to Reset Your Life - Write a Love Letter to Your Future Self

Today's exercise was pretty cool! I was tasked with writing a love letter to my future love... ME! The idea was to write an inspiring letter detailing how much I've improved in the seven areas I mentioned in my post yesterday. You can copy & paste the letter into futureme.org where you can set a future date for your letter to be emailed to you - how cool is that?!?! You can also read other user's love letters to themselves. Here's my love letter to myself:

Dear Future Jazzy,

Girl, welcome back! It's been a long time since I've seen you, but I am so glad that you decided to show up with a bang! Congrats on all the progress you've made thus far! Choosing to take an honest look at your life was one of the best decisions you could have made.

It's been a month, and now you have even more to be grateful for in each area of your life, including:

Lifestyle: You've made such an effort to get out more and enjoy life with & without the company of friends/family. You’ve tried new things and have enjoyed finding new places to hang out & visit. Although you are still in GA, you are no longer just dreaming of traveling, but you already have 2 trips in the works for 2014!!

Career & Work: You still love your flexibility, but since you know Credigy is NOT the company for you – you’ve made positive moves to find your passion and the career that best fits in with that. I’m confident that once you do that, the contentment and happiness with your career & work will improve significantly. But in the meantime, you are no longer the negative Nellie and you will look for the best in all situations, even at work. I see you, girl!

Money & Finances: This is area was not too bad for you, but I see you making monthly payments on both of your student loans, getting those paid down! The increase in pay will come with your new career and with God’s blessing on your life. Keep making positive choices!

Health & Wellness: A month or so ago, you were completely unhappy with your health & wellness but you were doing nothing to make it better. But look at you now! You are working out 4-5 times a day, more toned and making a conscious effort everyday to make better choices regarding diet & exercising. I bet you feel better too!

Family & Friends:  You stopped worrying about cultivating new relationships with others and worked on cultivating the relationship with yourself and look at the payoff! You have good friends and family that love you and with God on your side, that’s all you need.

Love & Romance:  I think spending time focusing on you made all the difference in the world. I love this quote:

“If you aren’t good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time loving anyone, since you’ll resent the time and energy you give another person that you aren’t even giving to yourself” – Barbara De Angelis

It is so true! The more and more you fall in love with yourself the less and less being single will bother you AND you will be ready for the man that’s for you. But in the meantime, there is nothing wrong with mingling and meeting new people. Get out there with your new trimmed physique, gorgeous legs and awesome smile!

Personal Growth & Spirituality: You were good here a month ago and you’ve only grown more!
I can’t express how happy I am for you. Your outlook on life is so much better now and it’s all because of your hard work. Keep striving for the best you!

My take away from this exercise:

I'm excited to see if what I've put out in the atmosphere for my future self will be as I stated it. I'm optimistic that it will because writing it and posting it will make me more accountable. To be honest, I don't want to get that email in a month and not live up to my personal expectations. I made sure to be realistic so that while it may not be easy, it is attainable.

Til tomorrow....
